Find Something to Love
I’m Monty and I’m the head creative person at KCI Media Group. Before working in design communications, I spent many fun years in advertising sales and marketing at The Charlotte Observer. During that time I became interested in visual communication. I decided to go back to school for it. That developed very quickly into a
love affair with all things design.
Make Meaningful Creative
My 15 years as a ‘creative’ have helped me understand what made an advertising campaign, layout, image, tagline work as a well-thought-out, effective campaign.
I’m able to ‘interpret the dynamics’ between marketing, design and the message tailored to a target audience. I’ve had my copywriting, photography, design work published, and I’ve art directed publications including SouthPark Magazine, UNC Charlotte Magazine, PRIDE Magazine, The Charlotte Chamber’s Newcomers Guide, Lake Norman Currents, Carolina Bride, SEEN Magazine, Carolina Fire Journal and more. I designed the official program for a Charlotte Mayoral debate, created ‘Festival in the Park’ branding, as well as sales and marketing collateral.
I’ve had terrific professional, working relationships with Publishers, Editors, Photographers, Vendors and Sales staff. We’ve collaborated on editorial budgets, ad lists, adjacencies, logistics, planning and communicating with clients.
